Algar Ind BK is a South African manufacturer of high-quality livestock handling equipment, built with a clear purpose: to provide farmers with durable, efficient solutions that improve livestock management and reduce labour demands.
The company was founded in 2014 by Hannes Nortje, a farmer who understood first-hand the challenges of working with unreliable equipment. As his farming operation expanded, he encountered a recurring problem—standard cattle handling equipment, particularly neck clamps, failed under pressure and often broke within months.
Recognising the need for stronger, more reliable solutions, Hannes set out to develop equipment that could withstand the realities of South African farming conditions. When suitable partners could not be found, Algar Ind BK was established to bring that vision to life.
